Southern Illinois Residential Energy provides our customers will independant, third party energy consulting using high tech building diagnostic equipment and software, including: a blower door, REM/rate, and a duct blaster. S.I.R.E. services home owners, real estate agents, home builders, HVAC contractors, small business owners, and anyone interested in improving energy performance in their homes or businesses. 

Home Energy System (HERS) Enegy Audits rate a home's energy use much like the mile per gallon rating in automobiles. These national standardized home energy rating scores can then be compared to a Code home (a home built with the minimum energy efficiency requirements) and shown to consume much less energy over the life of the home. HERS Ratings are the flagship service of Southern Illinois Residential Energy many of the services below include a HERS Rating.

The HERS Rating provides proof of a buildings energy effiency through an index score. These scores are then used for a variety of other services, for instance: an index score of 85 is needed to verify the home for ENERGY STAR; an index score of 50 is needed for verifying the home for the $2000 Federal Income Tax Credit for home builders; for Energy efficient mortgages; and, most importantly, for providing proof to a home buyer that the home is energy efficient.
